It's quite common for product organizations to struggle with investing in design system work due to the challenge of leadership understanding the need and justifying the cost. During my time at Accela, I took on the role of product owner for our design system as we navigated growth and scalability. By setting clear user and business goals at a high level, we were able to effectively measure the success of our work. This approach helped demonstrate the value and necessity of investing in the design system, ultimately garnering support from leadership.
